First, I speak from experience as I have been in PS for 4 years with Deloitte. Bottom line, if you are NOT in the PS practice, you tend to look down your nose on it. Are we paid less? Probably generally we are. However, I think I am paid fairly. I would expect to paid the following:
If consultant = 70-80K
If sen. consultant = 80-95k
If manager 95-110k
I have been staffed every day of my career in consulting (4 years with deloitte and 4 years with medium sized firm). Why? becuase I have a specialized set of skills in a particular Public Sector niche. I am lucky as I happen to enjoy it.
Listen, if you really want to do this work, just get in and agree to something fair and then everything else will take care of itself. |

I've been scouring this message board trying to locate someone that has worked in Deloitte's public practice. I'm obtainging my MPA (graduating in July)and have a strong public policy background with a focus on health care. I have three years experience, including two years working in a health care consulting firm. I'm really interested in the advanced degree MPA rotation that is shown as a position on dtt's website. I submitted my application buy would REALLY like to speak with a recruiter for the east coast. Is it possible to forward me such information. Can you provided further information on this rotation and what skill set they are looking for? I find this position really intriguing and would like the opportunity to speak with someone about in greater detail about the public sector practice. My email is jamaliabrashears@yahoo.com.
