Very Little Strategy Work |

you are not getting anywhere.
The reality is Deloitte Consulting has the resources to gain important accounts in Strategy, recruits on the ivy leagues (which you are not apparently part of, he he...) and other top schools, retains the brightest and does outstanding work for repeat projects. Analysts/Consultants however, need to work really hard no matter where and their experiences are slightly less positive.
With the way you talk, I bet you didn't get an offer either. It is very unlikely that you would've lasted long either had you gotten that offer. |

I recently left Deloitte as a Senior Manager to start my own consulting firm. Deloitte was a good employer (decent pay, benefits, etc), but it would not be a fair description to say that we did much strategy work. Deloitte is an implementation firm; if you are primarily interested in strategy this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for excellent work experience and can put up with the never-ending restructuring and indecisiveness at the leadership level, you could have a very successful career. I probably would have been a lifer had I not seen a great opportunity - one of those "right place, right time" opportunities.
