the schedule is often referred to as '3-4-5' which means exactly what you described: Client site Monday-Thursday, home office on Friday. This applies to projects that allow for this flexible schedule and for those projects that are travel-based projects. Local projects occasionally may do a home office on Friday but are almost always client on-site Monday through Friday.
Even with a flexible Monday through Thursday schedule, the hours you work will be very intense during the Monday through Thursday and Fridays are often more relaxed and are usually intended to give you an opportunity to be in the home office and participate and/or be involved in office/Deloitte activities, firm meetings, etc.
That said, not all projects are on a 3-4-5 schedule but most of them are (prob. 80%) and most projects, even if they are aren't 3-4-5 every week, are big enough so that the team you're with rotates. Maybe one week you're Monday through Thursday, next week you're Tuesday through Friday. Or maybe its Monday through Friday one week, then the next it is Monday through Thursday, and on and on.
A lot of times on a small project, its necessary to simply just ask and bring up the 3-4-5 schedule as an opportunity. If it isn't structured that way and no one asks, then it probably won't change. We're often flexible around here, within reason of course. Sometimes you won't get your way. Sorry to say! |

im sure its pretty much whatever the client wants/needs so it can be dependant if there is a meeting at client site on monday or friday, etc.
What about travel regionally?
Is it all over the U.S. usually?
or do they really staff you locally or regionally?
