FAS does place less emphasis on accounting than the other groups. The only two FAS business lines are worth considering are Valuation and Dispute. San Francisco isn't a particularly strong FAS practice due to excessive turnover + poor leadership in valuation. |

can anyone speak to the kind of work FAS practices, valuation or otherwise, using technical vernacular an undergrad might understand. I've heard from bankers, who may be biased, that its narrowly focused on asset valuation in support of M&A strategies. More specifically, evaluating assets assumed from aquired firms and valuation with regards to goodwill. Is this correct? Is the breadth of valuation services greater than this? Maybe the type of work previously described best characterizes entry-level work, but how sophisticated are these practices in their scope. Also, does execution of deals take place within DT, or is it mostly due dilgence?
