in those situations in where your salary is not in line with other members in your group/firm and to make you whole they give you a sign-on bonus. in other cases, if they really have a need for you, and you play hard to get, i can see them granting a bonus as well. but asking or fighting for one, doesnt' really reflect good on you - |

I was told that they only give bonuses to employees who started as interns.
