I'm looking to join a BB that is in the Chicago area and I have heard good things about this office.
Does anybody know more about the office? (culture, hours, exit opps, groups)

I know that both HOLT and CSFB's small-cap equity research are in Chicago. There is also some trading and IB. I have heard nice things about the working in the Chicago office. However, I also hear from NY that there is occasionally pressue to move groups from Chicago to NY. Not all groups but NY in some cases does not understand the justification of having a group in Chicago.
I know a bit about the small-cap group which is part of equity research. In the past the structure of this group was not very good and caused considerable turnover. However, I think the work environment is now pretty good. Politically, however, I don't see that CSFB will support this effort but for someone who has done a good job it may be good opportunity for someone who is not ready to be a senior analyst to step up senior analyst.
