Uhhh... perhaps because he is smart and doesn't want to lock himself out of the research business unintentionally.
I don't if you're a part of HR and systematically respond to posts on this board, but you've obviously drank a bit too much juice and aren't giving very helpful or straightfoward answers.
I begin working for the company in September, and what a great company it is, but your postings on this site don't make the company look very good. I'd refrain from saying anything in this forum, where people come for unbiased advice, unless you know what you're talking about.
