In Reply To: 1556 Filbert, Is the situation you describe regarding turnover, etc. true of only the sales side or the research side too? Would employees in research have a different response to such surveys? Would greatly appreciate your and other's response to this... Thanks
Message: Trump21, Turnover is much higher on the sales side than on the research side. Turnover on the research side is above the industry norm but not enough for concern. Good question RE different survey responses . . . my guess is that the research side would indeed respond differently to surveys. The problem with employee satisfaction data for CEB in particular is that the polls are generally conducted (by outside firms) every 1-2 years, and on the sales side, there's too much churn to get an accurate view. If you're interested in getting a few years of work experience under your belt before graduate school, then a CEB research job can work for you. However, if you're interested in consulting or banking, then CEB is probably not a good move for you. The CEB brand name won't help or hurt for graduate school applications, but it will be a liability if you're trying to move up to "white shoe" firms. Avoid sales (Marketing in CEB-speak) altogether.
