I am currently a undergrad senior considering the SA position. I have a few questions about the position and would appreciate honest responses from people who have actually experienced the SA lifestyle.
1. Living in the DC area and its higher cost of living, is the entry level salary for the SA position reasonable (i.e. allowing a lifestyle of going out, decent housing, etc.)?
2. Work/Life balance- Do SA's have enough time to enjoy the subtleties of life? Or is it a non stop relentless grind at work that wears you out by the end of the day? Do SA's have time to volunteer in the city, go out for drinks, dare i say it...*party*? Essentially, can you sustain a social life?
3. Law/Grad School Transition? I have heard that many SA's move on to grad school or law school. Would you consider the SA position a good job to have as "time off" before someone moves on to law school or grad school? Or in retrospect, would you have pursued a different path before law school/grad school?
Just some questions, I appreciate your help.
