There are several reference materials that you may want to check, depending on the industry you are researching. You may want to start with the US Commerce Department for import figures by class of product and manufacturer. Other data points would be:
www.housewares.org
The UL home page
The US Coast Guard home page
AHMA home page
Other data can be obtained by using a good search engine bracketing your search criteria.
If all else fails you can use any of the major business/industry volumes:
Hoovers
Wards
Thomas Register
Or just pick a company in the industry you are researching and call their marketing department. Most of them will help if you explain what you are looking for.
