In Reply To: Old man, you are correct that CA has suicides, and more than other companies. Something they won't tell you is that 80% of employees, or somebody in their immediate family, is on Zoloft, Prozac, or a similar type of drug. Why? First, look at who works at CA. It is people who are desperate. In I.T., working for CA is like hitting skid row. It is where you go when you can go no place else. Inside, you are managed to not think, just do. It is a horrible place unless you are mindless and numb, or dumb. The pay is o.k.--everything else is a nightmare. Add to that all the dishonesty, the numbers, the way people backbite and run good people out of the company, and what do you expect? I've been at CA for 2 years now and hate it. I've thought about leaving the company, but not life. If you or anybody on this board needs help, get it. They do have an 800 number for help. Don't end up like the sales manager in Chicago.
Message: Does your opinion change since Sanjay Kumar is no longer CEO? CA appears to be a good place to work based on internet research. But, you really don't know a place until you speak with several folks who work there. I am expecting to be called for an interview soon and will weight the +/- of the company after I inteview HR and the hiring manager. Any last words of advice?
