In Reply To: I'm intrigued by the idea of lumping vacation, sick, and personal days all together into a leave "bank." It sounds like a great idea that employees might really like. I have one concern, though: What happens under this type of leave bank arrangement when an employee terminates with the company? He or she ordinarily would have to be paid out for his/her unused vacation days, but not for unused sick, personal, etc. How would the employer avoid having to pay out for ALL unused days in the bank, if vacation days are lumped with other leave days? Anybody got any ideas? -- Anonymous in New York
Message: We have a 'Leave Bank' - and it works great. The answer to your question, we don't pay for unused time - it's use it or lose it!
