If we are talking Law school, both George Washington and of course Geoorgetown are much better than William and Mary.
If we are talking undergrad, Georgetown is CONSIDERABLY more prestigious and selective than either GW or William and Mary, both of which are considered second tier schools.
Further, William and Mary, though selective, is a STATE school. Its overlaps are VPI, JMU, GMU and UVA. Its SAT is 1290.
Georgetown overlaps with Duke, Harvard, Yale and yes GW: SAT 1430
Geo Washington has a lower SAT at 1230 and overlaps with Emory, Boston U, and party schools like Syracuse.
Point is...these schools are not comparable culurally. Different types of people go to GW than W&M, but neither school is a knockout. |

Let me reiterate. Good though it is, W&M is a STATE school, like UVA, VPI or GMU. It may be ranked slightly higher (in 1997 for example GW was #47 and W&M #35) while W&M has since climbed to #29 and GW fell to second tier, but W&M is certainly NOT comparable to Georgetown. What a lark!
