I went to PENN undergrad. It was great. I live near Princeton now. While Princeton is a great school, it doesn't compare with PENN with its diversity and both bredth and depth of offerings. I used to get upset when I said I went to PENN, people used to say, "PENN State" and I would have to explain, "No, University of Pennsylvania", but once I was on the train to NYC and a women was sitting next to a college student and they were talking. He said he went to PENN, the woman asked, " Oh, the University of Pennsylvania?" He blushed terribly and hemmed and hawed and said, "No PENN State." She said, "Oh, I see..." I felt a small victory. Undergraduate education does matter. Not necessarily the name of the school, but the quality of education you get out of it. I took an undergrad Account class at PENN (Wharton) and it was tough. I took a grad level accounting class at Seton Hall and it was pretty lame. It was less intense than an undergrad class. Eventually, I ended up at Babson MBA full-time and that was a great experience. While not everyone knows Babson, the educational program is top notch and quite intense. It also ranks very high in part-time programs and in Entrepreneurship. Often, the name of the school comes with the reputation, so don't dump your Ivy League Schools so quickly. |

Thank you for your insightful comment. Yes, I think Penn students have a sort of "Identity Crisis". But do you think same kind of things happen between Michigan and Michigan State? For us, better to say "UPenn".....
P.S. I know Babson has a good Entrepreneurship program. Good Luck. And if you live in Princeton, consider Princeton Finance program. Could be good.
