You're absolutely right, Chicago is the best school for those who like to excel, understand, and be successful.
However, when you hear anything in the media, it's usually about Stanford, harvard, Yale. Chicago doesn't have such a BRAND NAME (thank god or the competition would be even tougher) |

Well I go to a top 20 school, as U-Chicago is and I did not apply there, even though I'm an econ major and quite versed in how spectacular and wonderful the dep't is there as well as it's reputation...My reason for NOT applying there: I wanted to do more than study all the time and take lots and lots of math. College is also about having fun, not necessarily studying 24/7...so I chose a university who is still renown for it's academics, but also has that nice "work/life balance" that so many professionals seem to crave now days.
