then why Penn didn`t change the name like Wharton College or something like that? And why the US News recently raised Penn`s ranking up to #5? (as same as Stanford/MIT) It`s a mistery...... |

Ever heard of the College of New Jersey? Over a hundred years ago, the people at the College of New Jersey realized that their name sounded like a state school, so they changed it to Princeton.
Why doesn't Penn do this? Some kind of strange reverse-elitism, where they figure "if you haven't heard of Penn, then I don't really want to associate with you anyway."
Penn is a great school to go to if you can't get into Harvard/Princeton/Yale.
