In Reply To: Also respectfully, I ask what kind of authority you are in making such a statement. Are you just someone who has an impression? Or are you someone who would actually know about such things? Honestly, people can place preconceived notions and biases on any school, but no matter how hard they might try, reality will remain undisturbed. This includes Princeton. Try to denigrate Princeton's excellence, but it will be all for nothing. I'm not saying STanford isn't a fine institution, because it most certainly is one. It would be an enviable position, to have the option to choose between Princeton and Stanford. Some may choose to go west, some may choose to go east. Does either choice really make a difference in terms of that person's future? I'd say at that point, the person has his future almost wholly in their hands. Wherever a Princeton student can go, a Stanford student can go and vice versa. This holds true for any school the masses may deem "good". Trumpcards? Give me a break. Coming out of an elite school may make it easier to get a job, but in the end it's about how hard you tried and what you made out of your opportunities. There are no real trumpcards in this world.
Message: look you high school kids. it's all the same in terms of prestige and all that muck. if you come from a good school, people will say to you, "oh, you must be smart" regardless of whether you came from stanford or princeton. pick the school that you want to go to because of its people, atmosphere, city, life style, location, etc. things that will matter while you are there. don't be a snot.
