I really do not understand the venom of this K poster toward UNT. I attend a school where the SAT average is above 1400, but that does not give me a reason to look down on someone who goes to a lower ranked school. These numbers are just averages. There are many people here who do not possess the "Ivy" intelligence. Just the same, I am sure that UNT has some very smart people studying there. K simply strikes me as a bitter person who needs to point to his school for a sense of self-affirmation. However, if he does wish to get into a rankings war, then I invite him to put UT up against an Ivy or Stanford. We can then start quoting SAT's and GPA's to his heart's desire. The general point is that a school is only a school. The person's willingness to learn new things is what makes him/her smart. The brand name is nothing without the person to back it up.
My advice to K is to just be happy with what you have. UT is a good school, and you can make a great career with the education you get there. The same goes for UNT, Yale or any other school.
