You just refuted your own argument, dipstick.
I agree that Berkeley has a public mission to fill, AND THAT IS PRECISELY IT CANNOT BE COMPARED TO THE SCHOOLS WHOSE ONLY GOAL IS ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE and not the education of Joe Blow. I agree that SAT's are not necessarily the best predictor of performance. However, if you took time to notice, most of the top students score highly on their SAT's, with few exceptions of course. Likewise, the mediocre students do not fare too well ON AVERAGE. That is the reason I used the SAT as a factor in my analysis. You say that everybody at the top of their class at Berkeley got into a top grad school. Well, Einstein, at my school you do not even need to be at the top of the class to get into a leading grad school.
A 3.5 will do just fine. Why, you ask? Everybody knows that our grades are earned against much tougher competition than your bullshit results. If the average Ivy Leaguer were at Berkeley, he would easily be at the top of the class, and I guess that would qualify him as a "VERY SMART PERSON".
