GB, I agree with your response. Luckily, graduating from schools like Cal and applying to graduate schools with a 3.5 is like a 3.8 from an Ivy School. I say this because I have friends at Cal & UCLA who scored had high GPA's (3.75-3.9) in Biochem, MCDB, etc , average MCAT's(9-10), and the research experience. They got into or interviewed with every top program Medical program in the country. The graduate programs give you credit if you can get that high of a GPA at Cal. |

Hey, while I agree that graduate programs do realize how tough berkeley is, we're at a disadvantage in other areas--things like consulting and banking jobs. In any case, my experience is that the person with the more rigorous education is better off in the long run, so take pride in that. Study hard, good luck, and make your school proud.
