In Reply To: I cannot help but be amused at this thread. A bunch of people who are jealous of ivy leaguers, are bashing the Ivies' grading policies. For your information, the Ivies grade everything on a curve. Thus, rarely do more than 30% of the class get an A grade. If one considers that the student bodies at Ivies and Stanford are much more accomplished than those at Rochester and Berkeley, then it is easy to understand that the ivy kids face an uphill climb to receive good grades as well. It is true that fairly few C's are given out in the Ivy League. However, I do not see why a top student would worry about these things. If one wants to get a good job or attend a top graduate school, that person will have to get mostly A's. B's will not get it done. Thus, if someone finds themselves getting C's, then that person needs to reevaluate him/herself instead of bitching about their school's grading system. You guys need to get past your jealousies, and look in the mirror. If you ain't got it, you ain't got it. It's okay, not all of us are meant to graduate in the top 10% of our class. Relax and enjoy college, instead of bitching about trivial matters.
Message: It sounds like you are the one with the problem. Its people like you that give Ivies a bad name. From the messages here, no one was attacking Ivies just wondering about grade inflation, so chill.
