In Reply To: I am a summer analyst at a top 3 bank and all this talk of college prestige doesn't mean shit. I go to a top 5 libral arts college and a couple of the VPs I work for went to no name state colleges. I promise you these state college guys can be smarter and harder working than the ivy guys. When your working the real question isn't where you were the last four years, what do you know and show me...now. Repeating the prestige of your school all day doesn't get the work done well. BE REALISTIC.
Message: The first person who has said it straight.....I make the same paycheck with my state school degree that the guy next to me from Harvard and the other girl from Northwestern makes (I work with grads from ND, Northwestern, Duke, and Harvard, not to mention a handful of state schools. We graduated the same year, with similar majors and academic backgrounds, and we all started at the same salary). It isn't where you go, its what you make of it and the major you chose. Those of you who are so concerned with the name of your school are either a)not in college yet or b)a rich, white male with some of daddy's money to spend. Be proud of your school, but don't think you are any better than the next guy or girl.
