I go to Dartmouth and am having a reverse problem. I have an excellent resume and have gotten offers for internships at Goldman, Price waterhouse, the U.S. Senate, etc. Yet, I can't get an internship at Tyco or Mattel because I did not major in "Marketing." Unfortunately, most Ivies (Columbia, Dartmouth, Harvard, Yale I know for sure) don't offer such pre-professional degrees. I feel the Ivy League puts you in this sphere where you can get an awesome job in I-banking or consulting, but not in other fields. It sucks. |

I am having the same problem, because my school doesn't have an undergrad business degree. This puts students that go to a strictly liberal arts school at a disadvantage. After graduating from rochester, i got a job offer at MSDW for an i-bank job. But I wanted to work in advertising and couldn't get a job. Since I didn't have a business undergrad degree.
