Hello,
I will be enrolling in college next fall. Here is my dilemma. I anticipate being accepted to both UVA and WM. They are both close in the USnews rankings (not that I really place much weight on them) and I am not sure which to attend. I have friends at both. The consensus amongst my friends is that UVA has a stronger national reputation but focuses less on the undergraduates due to their significant graduate programs. Also, WM seems to be a little tougher, i.e. less grade inflation, I got this info from avg graduates grades, and other more informal sources. Based on "objective measures" like SAT scores and high school grades, both schools seem to have equally intelligent students, i.e. entering student SAT scores and high school grades were very similar. I plan on majoring in economics or political science, so I am not too concerned about engineering or business programs. So you can my uncertainty here. Thanks for any input or advice.
