In Reply To: Okay, from what I've read there seems to be a lot of negativity surrounding CU. I'm a senior who is seriously thinking about ED to Cornell and I've always thought that it's a prestigous school (that's the impression I get in so. cal). So everyone, please comment, and be objective. I suppose Cornell must seem like an ugly duckling to the HYP types (STANFORD ISN'T IVY!) but is it honestly that bad? Also, people who went to cornell- is it as pretty as it looks, and how's the weather? I live in a thermastat setting of 80 degrees. Okay, and lastly here's my stats: 1440 (750v/690m), 770 writ, 740 lit, (no math yet) and 3.7 unweighted (plenty of extracurr). So aside from all u valedictorians, wat do the rest of u people think about where I can get into school? Thanks!
Message: Dude, I think someone said it above me very well. Yeah, Cornell is an ivy league school in name, but it's definitely at the bottom of the pack. I'd say Cornell and Penn are in the bottom. Dartmouth, Columbia, and Brown are in the middle. And Harvard, Yale and Princeton are on top. I guess if you really want to go to Cornell, that's your decision. But if you like it warm, there's lots of other schools that are as prestigious or more so than Cornell in warmer places. Duke is a school that right away comes to mind. And even in your area, Pomona College and Cal Tech are better than Cornell. Hey ... my two cents.
