In defense of the youngest of the "prestigious Ivies" I do think that in applying to schools of choice, you need consider your major interests at hand. If you are knowlegable about Cornell, then you would know that it is world renowned for both its School of Hotel Administration and its School of Industrial and Labor Relations (the number 1 pre-law program in the country), and if you want to get technical, more students from Cornell got into Harvard Law School than students from Harvard.
As a student myself, I too applied to many of the ivies and was accepted, however, it was in my best interest to choose Cornell because of the opportunities and the "fit" that it offered to me. I firmly believe that choosing a school based on the name and how it fits on a resume alone won't bring success or happiness, rather choosing a school on personal fit and making the most of your educational experience will lead to a prosperous future. In a nutshell, am I proud to be Cornell student? Resoundingly Yes! |
