Message: Hardly. I'm a recent Wash U graduate and now at Carnegie Mellon pursuing an MIS, so I'll try not to be biased. Everyone knows that Wash U has a great med school, but that's not all. Unlike a school like CMU which has an oustanding computer science and software engineering programs, there's not much else an undergrad can do. Wash U on the other hand has a more balanced curriculum. Not only is the medical school great, but the business school, architecture AND many liberal arts program great. As for the business school at Wash U, sure the grads come out making less that Wharton or Harvard, but consider that many take jobs in the midwest, which has a significantly lower cost of living than NYC or Boston or SF. As for the comment that Wash U has a boatload of money, think about why. Perhaps it's because the alumni are satisfied with their education. Personally, I don't understand why all of you are so damn bent on rankings anyway. What, is having your degree better than ND or Wash U gonna help you get laid? I didn't go to the other schools mentioned, so I have no comment about them. But I will say that I've worked with Harvard and Yale snobs who were complete morons and Depaul and Tennessee grads who were geniuses. Don't look at the program, look at the people that come out of them. Then all of you that hide behind your "prestigious degree" to cover your own inadequacies can finally see the truth for what it really is. The Tartan Bear
