I thought you all were bad with your stupid rankings...First of all, liberal arts courses are not fluff. Perhaps if you had taken a few more english classes, you'd know how to spell. Secondly, if your "electives" were that easy, you must have gone to a terrible school. Maybe you went to an Ivy but wherever you went, you missed the whole point of college. College does not = a job. College is there for the SAKE of taking history, english, and yes, econ courses. But you should be well rounded. As far as I, and most people outside of banking, are concerned, an MBA is like going to trade school. You might as well get a degree in welding or plumbing. First of all, any moron can memorize whatever is needed to be successful in I-banking or finance. It's not bloody rocket science. B-school just gets you to where you want to be but it's not really academic. If you want a REAL graduate degree, go to freaking law school. Secondly, any moron who sold their soul to be an analyst gets into a "top ten" MBA program. Piece of cake. Being able to critically think, logically analyze, and assess issues (all hallmarks of a decent liberal arts education) will get you much further in life. You can still make the big bucks coming from a liberal arts school. But you can do much more. If you take business classes exclusively, you are pigonholed. If all you care about is your porsche, be my guest. But people like you are what's wrong with our fucking society. You've forfeitted your ability to think in the pursuit of money. Good luck getting your MBA... |

I would have to agree with the previous poster. Whoever wrote "business school is a fluff" obviously was venting or just approaching the issue from a narrow-minded perspective. You sure didn't sound like a well-rounded thinker to me. In fact you sounded a little bitter.
