In Reply To: First of all, while wealth, fame, et al. are certainly a stepping stone to happiness, they are not all that matters. That kind of attitude is going to make you lonely and miserable. Secondly, an Ivy league school has nothing to do with success in your life. Granted, it will give you a leg up when starting your career, but intelligence and ambition are not measured by where you educated yourself. This world is full of extraordinarily successful individuals with barely a high school education. If you continue to disregard people due to their educational background you will place yourself at a distinct disadvantage in acheiving your goals of wealth, fame, etc... Finally, given the wording of your post, you wasted thousands on that Ivy league school.
Message: Obviously what you learn at a top school is not going to make you successful. People go to these schools because being admitted and graduating is an excellent signal of intelligence. We pay $130,000 for the degree alone and it's well worth it.
