Doing your due diligence is impressive. However, no matter how many different answers you receive on this board there is one thing true of life and certainly of schw - uncertaintity. The brokers might be making $100k - $200k right now, but they were all making peanuts 3+ years ago. While schw has bettered the comp plan, schw truly looks after itself. From continual layoffs to constant comp changes. I know of no other financial services firm that makes such drastic changes with such frequency. schw is in a competitive industry and the industry is ever changing. Go to a wirehouse or RIA to cut your teeth and think of yourself as self-employed. You could be out of a job in weeks after your hire at schw.
