In Reply To: When you say, "I am not sure what you [sic} point is on the rankings", I thought I was clear: Schwab simultaneously pitches a rational, mathematical system for ranking stocks. BUT THEN, it also has a toothy glamour-girl type analyst promoting certain stock picks. Which is it? Scientific selection or insight by Wonder Woman? You should be able to tell me. Second, I hope you didn't mean to make the mistake, but many of the W. Bush Administration "experts" are subsequently derided as political cronies who had the right connections. Remember FEMA? Aside that Liz got picked and not "Mr. Cubicle", what EXACTLY were her qualifications to serve on such a panel? Is she a tax expert, too?? What law school / economics school did she get the tax specialty from?? Please. I thought patronizing feminism went out in the early 1990's. I guess not.
Message: You (u, ewe, yu, sic) wonder about the conflict. I don't actually follow what smiley does all the time, but what I have seen appears to show that she is focused on macro strategy calls and asset allocation. I am sure you will point this out and correct me, but I have not seen her highlight specific stocks by name (in her stratgey role for Schwab that is, not back in the CC days). And if I am correct on that point I don't see a basis for your thinking that there is some form of conflict re her work and the SER stuff. Anyway, have a nice day. I apologize for my past harsh words and will refrain completely in the future. I regret any and all offending posts.
