In Reply To: The trick to handle a manager problem is to ask HR for help. If you complain you are the one who is out. If you ask for help your manager is in trouble. The best way to handle the issue is first to get a few of your peers support. Now one of you call the HR generalist and ask for an appointment. Tell that person that you have been working for these many years and now you are having difficulty communicating / working with your manager. Tell them how much you value Schwab and your desire to continue in Schwab. You need to say "Somehow this is not working and I want this to work - I want your (HR) help to create a positive work environment". If some more of your peers start doing the same your manager will get it.
Message: Going to HR is the kiss of death for you at Schwab. HR's purpose at schwab or many corporations is to protect the corporation not help employees. Wait it out or leave. The only consistent thing at Schwab is change. As far as women and mature employees disapearing at Schwab, that is so true.....
