I could see why DO would want to keep you DO. If I'm really interested in "X" and not at all in "Y" (but both are DC based) then is there some point in the process where I get to say, "is it possible that my work focus on X" ?
Again, I'm at the start of this so if the question seems uninformed, I'm guilty as charged. |

don't forget, if you are now being recruited and interviewed for a DO spot, you will have no access to DI recruiters (in fact, even if you applied, they would not talk to you until DO is done with you). But if you start with the DO, work for a few years, decide you would be a better fit in the DI, then I'm sure somebody would try to accomodate you and allow you to transfer, assuming you have the skills. No offense to the DI people on this board, but if you have a chance to work in the DO why would you even consider DI?! Go big or go home is what I say (j/k...but only slightly).
