I went in thinking I would be good in the field. Once I went through the first couple steps, i realized that DC based was better for me. Just because you applied for DC doesn't mean you can't change your mind. You and the people you meet will help to hone in on what you can do best.

your email focuses more on change WITHIN a direcorate. Moving between directorates is not encouraged, but I have heard it is possible. If the DO invests a lot to train you, they don't want you going anywhere.
