Message: I noticed that there was some discussion a couple months ago about the timeframe for DI positions from initial application through bi and adjucation. I thought I'd post my experiences so far as sort of an update to this. I've never had a clearance before and have not-too-much foreign travel. Remember, this is for a DI [not DO/NCS!] position. 1. Late August 05: Applied on-line 2. Early September 05: Got an email requesting writing samples, transcripts, etc 3. Late September 05: Scheduled for an interview in DC area and sent writing test info 4. Mid October 05: Interview 5. Mid November 05: Recieved COE and completed paperwork 6. Late December 05: PO called to schedule 3-day med/poly/psych test in DC area. [Only needed one poly thankfully so was very quick and easy] 7. Early Feb 06: 3-day 8. Early March 06: Contacted by company doing BI. Started interviewing friends/associates that week. 9. Week later - had background interview with investigator [nice guy, just went over SF-86 and showed him around my office to get coworkers, bosses, etc] 10. The next week - as far as i can tell, everyone has been interviewed except relatives living in very rural areas of the U.S. who are scheduled to be interviewed this week. My BI is scheduled to be done mid next week [assuming no extra poly's or BI is needed]. So, it seems I'm moving along a bit more quickly than others - 7 months from application to adjudication and 4 months from COE to adjudication. I don't know if this is just me getting lucky, part of an expedited process for my position, or a sign that things are speeding up more generally. It's probably just me getting lucky so read into it what you will.
