In Reply To: No cursing please. It depends on the jobs required at the CIA. Special Ops?? I hope that I am not placed in a unit with unqualified individuals. Let me stress again that I am not an anti-feminist. I believe in diversity, especially in the CIA. The only comment that I have made is apply the same standards to both men and women. Let them run the same distance with the same time requirement. They want to be tough like men, well do the same.
Message: The challenge of creating a diverse organization isn't to treat everyone the same. The challenge (and the payoff) is in recognizing that individual differences provide value. That being said, with respect to physical training, the question should be what constitutes a bona fide occupational qualification for the job in question. If you can decide what's _truly_ required for the job, then you can decide what qualifications successful candidates need to have, and you'll know what variables (such as gender, potentially) shouldn't be a factor.
