I've heard not many women apply for DO...anybody have an idea how many female OOs there are? I've read Lindsay Moran's book and didn't get the impression she was treated like anything but an equal to the men. After all the hubub and lawsuits from the 90s I wasn't sure what the story was now. Thoughts? |

Wow. The good ol' boys are definitely alive and well among the Agency's hopefuls. Do you think that's the sort of the thinking they want to perpetuate?
Here are some reality checks for anyone who's been living under a rock the past couple decades:
* Not all secretaries are women.
* Women are just as capable of influencing others (and being influenced by others) as are men.
* Sometimes a man will have a better chance of recruiting an agent, and sometimes a woman will have a better chance. Sometimes the gender doesn't really matter at all-- that's just one variable. It depends on the individuals, the location, and the particulars of the situation.
