The DI and DO may have different suitability standards, so these examples may be inapplicable in other cases (*Does anyone know for a fact or have an educated guess about whether they are?*).
The rescision rate for the DO is much higher than for the DI. Accoreding to info posted earlier, about a third of the DI applicants do not complete the process.

...in the know as some other people. However, again from what I've gathered on here, it does not matter whether you applied to the DI or the DO. The BI and adjudication is within the realm of the Security office that makes the decision based on the info collected during the background investigation.
