I'm sure thier ideal is a completely dual-native speaking, grew up equally in both countries, type of ability, but that's hard to come by right, so something approaching that is my guess.
If they told you that you can use any source, except persons, I would do that. If you're at your future agency office, I'm sure they have resouces galore. I have no specific idea but from my experience of being abroad in translating type environments they probably have several "twists" and nuances in there, and see how many of them you can catch. You can only do your best right? Probably they just want to see your aptitude because we all know they have extensive language training once you get in right?
Any language officer applicants that can shed some light on this board? |
