In Reply To: DID YOU READ WHAT I WROTE? My polygrapher said in slightly more benign words, "I don't give a sh*t as long as you haven't sold anything." That's that. I was never asked during my initial interview or any of my security forms about illegal music downloading. I was asked if I have committed any major crimes, which I haven't, and I have been explained that sharing music, while not encouraged, is not at all a deal breaker. Nonetheless, if you get a call back from the recruiting center, I would recommend discontinuing any file sharing just as a sign of good faith to them. Be paranoid about that joint you smoked a while back (make sure it??s been at least 12 months, 18 for good measure), not what retarded but catchy Cascada song you downloaded illegally.
Message: I agree with what greatgranite wrote. Several people starting shifting in their seats when our initial interview briefer said that downloading music files can be a dealbreaker. Needless to say, with so many right out of college you know they had downloaded tons of music. However, someone asked to clarify this and they said anything downloaded illegally with intent to make a profit or distribute is what they are more concerned with. It isn't a big deal unless you have a T1 line dedicated to porn and music downloads from around the world to then distribute to your chatroom buddies. If you aren't doing this, you shouldn't worry about it.
