affect your clearance from what I know and have read on this message board. I think they say adjudication takes around 3-6 months and that is without considering the bottleneck that is occuring due to the DO & DI's mandated 50% increase.
I imagine you might get a call in that 3 months, and a 3 month trip to south asia would likely require you being reinvestigated to some degreee and re polygraphed.
Have you spoken to your POC at the recruitment center yet? 3 months is a long trip.
As for phsically recveiving the phone call, you could carry a gsm phone that has reception where you are and give that number to the agency.
Having said all that, you gotta do what you gotta do and I imagine you have good reason for doing this, but you sound like you may be nearing the end of the process so it might be worth hanging around state side. |

Thanks for the reply.
I figured it would take a longer time, but I am in a position where I would not mind the added time. Spoke briefly to my PO, and she said it depends on the time and itinerary, and that it is all at the discretion of the security department. I think a lot of it also depends on the specific country.
I realize that going abroad while in clearance could be perceived as a foolish thing to do, but I may be left with little choice.
