In Reply To: How much will my clearance be affected by international travel? I know you are advised against, but I may be going abroad nonetheless. I've been in adjudication for almost six months now (way too long...), and I may be traveling to South Asia for about 3 months. Will this extended trip abroad severely push my clearance back? Might I receive that precious phone call while I am abroad?
Message: affect your clearance from what I know and have read on this message board. I think they say adjudication takes around 3-6 months and that is without considering the bottleneck that is occuring due to the DO & DI's mandated 50% increase. I imagine you might get a call in that 3 months, and a 3 month trip to south asia would likely require you being reinvestigated to some degreee and re polygraphed. Have you spoken to your POC at the recruitment center yet? 3 months is a long trip. As for phsically recveiving the phone call, you could carry a gsm phone that has reception where you are and give that number to the agency. Having said all that, you gotta do what you gotta do and I imagine you have good reason for doing this, but you sound like you may be nearing the end of the process so it might be worth hanging around state side.
