DI processing easier than DO? |

Not sure what as "assignment" to the DO would entail, unless one is working in a part of the DI that is completely separate from the DO. I would think being a DI body in one of the joint centers like CTC or the CIC is basically like being "on assignment" to the DO.
I was referring more to a permanent move from analyst to case officer or SOO. During my interview, I was left with the impression that this is doable, but you would have to apply to the DO like any other external candidate, be screened, etc. (although one would think being on the inside and having an established track record would help expedite the process).
What I'm mainly wondering is if anyone else was told about a mandatory period you must wait before making such an application. I thought my interviewer explained that such a period was required to prevent people from using the DI to get in the door and then immediately go for DO. The problem is I'm now unsure if he actually said this or if that was just my impression, or what the length of any such period would be. |

I'm not sure about the mandatory period - sorry. However, I'm interested to hear more about what you seemed to be saying: that the process for getting into the DI is less stringent than the DO (whether that be for ops officer or other)?
I would think the security clearance TS/SCI is the same, but I'm more referring to the interview process.
