I just came across this message board - your discussions are a valuable resource indeed! Thanks!
I'm preparing to apply in the next couple of months and have been to a couple of DC based info sessions. The DO recruitment rep at the recent career fair I attended in DC gave me his card with his "name" and number. I've got a far east langauge and lived in JP and also Europe for a bunch of years. (I'm late 30s)
Basically, I'm weighing up applying to either the DO as an Operational Targeting Officer since it seems to have a mix of ops center and analysis type work vs. applying to the DI as a CT analyst.
Does anyone have any more info or experience regarding the DO OTO job? I know it's fairly new. And am I right in thinking that the DI analyst work is primarily desk based work alone? Anyone's thoughts would be apprecaited! |

Be mindful of age, since the notional barrier age for the DO is 35 years, except on the military side, where they accept older people with the skills they need. You should take the "tests", such as they are, on the CIA website and see where your interests fall on the DO vs DI range.
