In Reply To: First of all, take the CIA quizzes and see where you stand. Second, write about yourself conversationally. As for the world event, write as you would for a quality newspaper. And make sure you proofread things.
Message: When you write about the world issue, save your notes. If you make it to the three-day interview in D.C. then you can use the topic you wrote on as a foundation for one of your two briefs that you have to give. That is what I did. I know some people applying have all the time in the world on their hands to prepare for their briefs, but for those of us whose time is limited, saving your work and adding on to what you had already done might help. Its just an idea. That's what I did and it worked well for me.
