I completely agree with SurferDude. Mahle states that many candidates are weeded out just from the standardized testing and psych testing. Almost anyone can BS through an interview, but the tests are a little less manipulatable (although I would argue that the psych test is a tad manipulatable). And of course the other thing that is not completely in your control is the poly, and there is no doubt many people fail to get through this. I did not get excited about the prospect of actually working for the DO until they started contacting people from my sf-86 after I had completed my poly. In fact, I still realize there is a chance of rejection so I try not to be totally vested in this. |

Neither had I gotten excited until rejected three months after they'd contacted people. I don't care for myself, I have other options, just don't sound so smug in your assessment of my rejection when you have not been accepted yet yourself. You could still get hit wtih the thin letter at any time. That was my point to those still waiting, not to rationalize why I was rejected. It's better for me. Good luck.
