I think the question has to do with the "non-official" part of employment. Personally, I would find it sort of scary to be a NOC. I mean, if a foreign government ever found out you were spying, it would be very easy for the U.S. Gov't to say they have nothing to do with you. Although I would like to think the gov't wouldn't cut and run like that, there must be a reason why NOCs exist in the first place.
So...no, I wouldn't do it. |

I wonder how you get paid and how retirement is worked? Being 38 means I am past the point where I can be recruited for the DO's CS so it's really neither here nor there but everyone wants to retire and how do they give you credit for being a NOC?
No benefits either since you won't get a healthcare card from them.
Ever been to a hospital in say Uzbekistan? Not pretty!
