You would accept the hirer 14 paying job, of course. Then bid on a lower paying job, say a 12. The lower paying job would allow you "steps" in pay to adjust for your previously higher pay. Normally these steps take years to earn. Once you have same pay as a 12 that you had before as a 14, you bid on your old job and receive higher pay than the 14 step 1, just like everone else in the know does. Many times the net result is higher pay for the same job. Shhh...
