In Reply To: I highly recommend the Floyd Paseman book about his career. It is not without its warts, but it is a better picture of what a career might be like than Ms. Moran's dalliance with the CIA.
Message: I would have to agree about Lindsey Moran's book. I found it a great read because of all the detail she went into about the hiring process and her time at the farm. However, as the novel progressed, I became a bit leary of how short sighted she was. Despite her intellect, I feel like Moran probably didn't belong in the CIA in the first place. Her personal convictions, even from the beginning, foreshadowed her bad experiences in the field. While the career wasn't for her, I feel as though there are many other folks out there who are very serious about the mission, and will have long and happy careers with the CIA. If you yourself are having doubts about the merits of the agency, you may want to take a while to reconsider.
