In Reply To: Ugh. Well, after a year of applying and shuffling back and forth to DC and talking myself into the DO as a perfect career option for me, I received the dreaded thin white envelope yesterday. I have absolutely no idea why. My friends and I have all lost faith in the country's security if they're not hiring people like myself. I think they should rework the process to weed out for "suitability" reasons some time less than three full months after the med and poly. They really give no indication of what went wrong? I just have to see it as a blessing in disguise and explore other options.. Who do they let into the DO these days????
Message: I'm with you, in that I really think it would make more sense to make a suitablity ruling on the basis of the direct agency review, and that once that determination has been made, it is off to BI. That would let people know sooner, and would be a better use of resources, in that it would save time and money not investigating someone already determined to be unsuitable.
